A Happy Birthday and Respecting Authority

We had another exciting meeting today! Our topic of discussion was respecting authority. The girls came up with quite a good list of authority figures such as parents, teachers, doctors, nurses, police officers, fire fighters, babysitters, and most of all GOD! They understood that we show respect to those who want us to learn, be safe, and be the best we can be. The girls went on a mini-scavenger hunt to find some Halloween goodies. The purpose was to show respect to the adult leader by following the directions that would keep them safe and find their treasures. We ended our meeting with a birthday celebration for Juliette Gordon Low, the first Daisy! Mrs. Margaret Staneck, the leader of the 5th grade Girl Scout troop, treated us with Daisy blue cupcakes. Thanks to Aspen for our yummy treat as hostess. Emma Maye will be our next hostess. Thank you to Mrs. Leonard and Mrs. Domas for being such awesome "authority figures" today. Our next meeting isn't until Wednesday, Nov. 6. We will work to earn our Friendly and Helpful petal. Have a great Fall Break and a Happy Halloween!

Honest and Fair

We had another great meeting! We discussed ways to be honest and fair and then played board games to practice. We talked about fair ways to choose who gets to go first and how to select who will be a certain color. We chose the first player by rolling the die or spinning the spinner to see who would get the highest or lowest number. Some of the girls even chose who would be first by finding out who's birthday was the closest. The girls brought home their Honest and Fair petals. Thanks to Ava for being such a wonderful hostess. Our hostess for the next meeting on October 16th is Aspen. Thank to Mrs. Lawler and Mrs. Thornton for helping us today!
